Mommy and Daddy played on a summer coed softball team with lots of other family members again this summer. We always have a good time doing this, but more so, just enjoy seeing the family every Thursday. We play our game and then hang out/tailgate after the games. We talk, laugh, enjoy a couple of beers, let the kids play, and sometimes even order out and eat at the ball field. Yep, that's our family. And, the boys LOVE it. Garrett can't wait for "DeWeese Construction" night. The boys haven't missed a game and they love to run in and out of the dugout during the games. After the games, they say "good game" with us and give the other team fives and then, of course, run the bases. Needless to say, they go home filthy as can be, but like I said before......they have fun! And it is summer time, so we can get extra dirty and stay up late:) Another thing the boys have learned about since our softball nights is the ice cream truck. The ice cream truck would drive through the park and the boys would just listen to the bell. Well, one night Papa decided to let them choose a treat. Now, they know how it works. So, needless to say, every Thursday comes that ice cream truck and Granty will start yelling "ice cream, ice cream". Grant will finish his ice cream and even lick the stick. Garrett enjoys a couple of bites and hands his off. We only have 2 more weeks of DeWeese Construction slow pitch left......and we play the number 1 team tonight(our only previous loss). Hopefully we will be #1 by next week:) You will notice in some of the below pictures that the kids' shirts say DeWeese Destruction(not construction).....just like when I was growing up.
