~PRAYERS~

Prayers are very important in the Hamilton house. We say prayers with the boys before we eat and before bedtime. We also sometimes thank God through the day for things that we feel blessed to have or for something, such as a nice sunny day. We want our boys to know about God and all of the wonderful things He has given us. We attend church regularly and feel this has helped Garrett with seeing who Jesus is on the cross and observing as other people pray. I tell him we are going to God's house, so he has to be respectful. He folds his hands when we walk to communion, holds our hands during the "Our Father", gives PEACE to those close by, does the sign of the cross, and my favorite is his genuflect at the end of Mass. For only being two years old, Garrett does pretty well.
Grant, on the other hand, is at a difficult age for attending church. He does fold his hands when we pray, which is precious! We VERY RARELY took Garrett out of church for "bad/loud behavior", and it seemed to help with his overall church behavior and not wanting to go to the back. We hope to do the same for Grant, but it is challenging. Grant is extra loud and has started going through a fit throwing stage. Wish us luck!!
Garrett knows his bedtime and dinner time prayers. However, if I have the camera out, he acts backwards and talks with a whisper...I was able to get a prayer out of him...it's not perfect, but it's sweet:) I am very proud of him(and Grant too, for folding his hands..........and yelling "AMEN")!
